March – September 2025

Rent Busters Bunbury

Project overview

Rent Busters Bunbury is dedicated to helping Western Australians transition from renting to homeownership. Their comprehensive service includes financial assessments, personalised home design guidance, and loan application support, with a key strength in helping clients access the WA Government’s First Home Buyers Grant and other concessions. They also support those facing barriers such as bad credit, minimal deposits, self-employment, or second-home ownership, with each client guided by a dedicated coach.

When Rent Busters engaged Purple Giraffe, they had lost confidence in digital marketing following poor results from a previous agency. Campaigns had delivered low-quality leads, technical errors with pixel tracking, and minimal transparency. In addition, compliance challenges around financial services advertising had been poorly managed. The owner was sceptical about reinvesting but recognised that digital was critical in Bunbury’s tight property market.

Purple Giraffe’s role was to restore trust, improve lead quality, and reduce cost per lead while laying a foundation for scalable growth. To achieve this, we:

  • Developed a structured and compliant Meta Ads strategy, starting with traffic campaigns to build awareness before transitioning into high-performing Instant Form lead generation.
  • Corrected faulty technical set-ups, including Meta Pixel errors and conflicting Unbounce integrations, to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Guided the client through Meta’s financial services approval process, ensuring campaigns ran smoothly within compliance requirements.
  • Refreshed creative assets with people-focused graphics, relatable messaging, and ongoing creative testing to identify winning approaches.
  • Implemented Zapier integrations for instant lead notifications, improving responsiveness and conversion.
  • Introduced retargeting campaigns to capture warm prospects, quickly becoming one of the strongest performers.
  • Established a structured communication rhythm, including weekly performance updates and monthly strategy check-ins, restoring transparency and alignment.

Outcomes

The campaigns between March and September 2025 achieved a measurable turnaround for Rent Busters Bunbury:

  • Lead generation: Over 1.05 million impressions and 129,000 reach generated 11,561 clicks and 309 new leads.
  • Cost efficiency: CPL reduced significantly, settling at around $20 as campaigns matured. Average CPC was $1.82.
  • Engagement & retargeting: Retargeting activity was particularly successful, achieving a CPL of $31 with high conversion rates. Website traffic grew 31% to 1.14k users.
  • Lead quality: Client feedback confirmed a marked improvement in lead quality compared to the previous agency, with motivated prospects ready for conversation.
  • Scalability: Strong results in Bunbury enabled expansion into Mandurah, replicating success in a new region.
  • Brand awareness: Rent Busters established itself as a trusted local brand for renters aspiring to homeownership.
  • Client confidence: Transparent reporting and consistent results rebuilt the client’s trust in digital marketing, positioning it as a core driver of future growth.
