Treasure Boxes | Channel 9
Case Study
September 2025

Project overview
Treasure Boxes began in May 2015 with a simple but powerful mission: to make life a little easier for families doing it tough. Based in South Australia, this children’s charity provides the everyday essentials that babies and children need, offering vulnerable families practical support and hope for a brighter future.
On 15 September 2025, Treasure Boxes faced an extreme shortage of cots, leaving their warehouse unable to meet the needs of South Australian families.
Purple Giraffe responded immediately, leveraging established media relationships to secure an in-studio interview for CEO Gena Notley with Channel 9 news broadcaster Will McDonald. Within hours, the interview aired across both the afternoon and 6pm news bulletins, placing Treasure Boxes’ urgent call for support directly in front of thousands of viewers.
To extend the impact, the segment was repurposed across Treasure Boxes’ social media platforms. This digital amplification generated hundreds of views and re-shares, further driving awareness and inspiring community action.
Outcomes
The work delivered by Purple Giraffe provided Treasure Boxes with:
- Stronger Brand Presence: A refreshed, modern, and professional suite of brand assets suitable for both community and corporate audiences.
- Improved Engagement: Relevant and consistent content across platforms, supporting growth in social media followers and stakeholder recognition.
- Operational Support: Freed up time for the Treasure Boxes team to focus on daily operations while ensuring key communications and campaigns were executed to a high standard.
